SMOKEY BAY AIR
Scenic flights with Smokey Bay Air provide incomparable views of glaciers, volcanos and the rugged mountains on either side of Cook Inlet. Their volcano tours provide close-up vantage points for viewing the steaming crater atop Mt.Iliamna and of the nearly circular uninhabited cone-shaped island formed by Mt. Augustine (4,134 feet). Mt. Douglas with its crater lake is also a beautiful possibility. Another air tour, the Harding Icefield including its 40 outflowing glaciers, covers over 1000 square miles high in Alaska's Kenai Mountains. Mountain peaks protruding from the ice field enshrouded in ice, stretch off into the distance. These scenic air tours are transcendant.

40-mile Air
Tok - Fairbanks - Wrangells - Alaska Range
40-MILE AIR

Based in Tok, 40-Mile Air operates within the Wrangell St.-Elias Preserve, Yukon-Charley Preserve, Alaska Range, Tetlin Wildlife Refuge and the Fortymile Country - over 25,000 sq. miles of Alaska's most spectacular scenery and terrain. We offer year-round scenic flights. One of our favorites is the hour long trip west of Tok looking for moose and into the Alaska Range with its massive glaciers, huge mountains and of course Dall sheep.

40-Mile Air also has the most affordable scenic flight in the state ($105.00 per person) with our 2 hour long mail plane to Chisana, a tiny settlement deep in the heart of Wrangell - St.Elias National Park.
