Fly Around Alaska for seat fares
on Scheduled Flights

The least expensive means by air to travel from the lower 48 to anywhere in Southeast Alaska is to catch an Alaska Airlines Jet out of Seattle to any of the following Southeast Alaska towns:

  • Ketchikan
  • Wrangell
  • Petersburg
  • Sitka
  • Juneau
  • Gustavus/Glacier Bay
  • Yakutat

  • From these primary Southeast Alaska towns, Ketchikan, Juneau and Sitka, smaller airplanes, float planes for the most part, fly scheduled runs to and from many smaller communities. Almost all air taxi operations in Southeast as well as the rest of Alaska, offer seat fares for scenic flights departing and returning to the same place.

Other southeast towns are Petersburg, Wrangell, Metlakatla, Haines, Hoonah, Angoon, Kake, Craig, Klawock, Yakutat and Gustavus.

There are also many tiny (under 100 people) towns and villages, such as Pelican, Tenakee, Port Protection, Port Frederick, Port Alexander, Baranof Warm Springs, Elfin Cove, Excursion Inlet, Hyder, Meyers Chuck, Hidden Falls, Hollis, Thorne Bay, Kasaan and Saltery Cove. All of the towns and villages listed here and several others, not listed, are serviced by scheduled runs in small planes. Some communities are serviced with scheduled runs only once a week by six-passenger single-engine planes, so plan accordingly.
